Blessings continue as our Bread of Life guests will now be receiving donations from the Assistance League of Huntington Beach.  According to Chris Gandall, Vice President of Philanthropic Programs, “The mission of the Assistance League is to help those in our community, and we need to help more people.”

They are now doing just that as their generous arm of support has stretched to those facing homelessness. Through the newly developed Operation Share Program, organizations such as the Bread of Life Ministry are now eligible to receive men’s and women’s clothing, shoes, bedding, backpacks, suitcases and more on a weekly basis.

Pacific Care Collective President, Shelley Keltner, reflects, “As I consider Bread of Life, I am reminded of a passage. In Luke 9, when the disciples looked out at a hungry crowd of thousands, all they saw was what they were missing. But Jesus took what they had, blessed it and multiplied it so big that everyone ate until they were stuffed, with 12 baskets of leftovers to spare! Every single Sunday at Bread of Life, we get a front row seat to that exact same ‘more than enough’ kind of miracle.

The clothes and supplies we now receive from the Assistance League of Huntington Beach make such a huge difference for our guests. It brings them real comfort, gives them back a sense of dignity and reminds them that people actually care. And God didn’t just stop at providing the gear. Just like the bread multiplied in the disciples hands, we’re watching our volunteer teams grow and expand week after week. Welcoming more incredible serving teams, Pan de Vida Eterna and the Orthodox churches from FOCUS Orange County, is living proof of God’s provision. He keeps bringing the right people and the right resources at just the right time, making sure every neighbor who walks through our doors is both well-fed and deeply loved.”

Evolving partnerships like these are securing the future of Bread of Life and ensuring that our neighbors in need will continue to be cared for.
